Our Story

Hello! I'm Cherie, and along with my son, we welcome you to our 115-acre rainforest paradise, Castle Rock Farm. We became the proud guardians of this special land in November 2024, taking over from John and Helen, who created this unique retreat for relaxation and connection with nature. My background is diverse—I come from a large family, love being active and exploring, and have a passion for nature and travel. I've worked in the UK and volunteered with wildlife health projects in Zimbabwe. As a farmer with a successful cattle and sheep operation and a veterinarian of 20 years, I focus on holistic animal care and natural systems that promote health and sustainability for both animals and humans. Our goal at Castle Rock Farm is to become self-sufficient, with mature food forests already in place. We'll offer immersive workshops and retreats for guests to unwind, a digital detox, and reconnect with nature and wellness. This journey of healing and wellness is deeply personal to me and my son, as we've both overcome chronic illness and now live medication-free.
